Autry House Has New Appearance

A new fountain, frigidaire equipped, has been installed in the Autry House canteen with the present size of the canteen reduced to ohe-half of its former size. The compactness of the canteen assures less wasted energy and greater efficiency. The entire building has been repainted and floors scraped and polished. Old furniture has been completely renovated, with two red cushion rocking chairs in the men's lounging room attract ing the most attention and receiving the most comment A newly constructed entrance to the lounging room annex affords accessibility to the canteen for students now dressed for a public appearance. The removal of the dining room adjoining the cafeteria affords 20 feet of additional counter space for the Autry House Cafeteria. Many new cafeteria fixtures and utensils have been added to the celebrated "coffee house," since its last use during the past scholastic year. New curtains and draperies afford a striking background of blue and gold. An additional meeting room has been added to the second floor of the Autry House. The picture machine box has been removed from the balcony of the second floor and a door cut through the south wall permitting access to the room on the south side of the building without entrance Into the main room of the second floor. 6 ld and new students alike are being welcomed to the newly renovated meeting place of students ot Rice.
